Biography
Sean is an award-winning TV and film Director, currently working on Hollyoaks where he has been a series regular director since 2005. He has just finished filming an action packed late night episode of the continuing drama to celebrate the show’s 30th Anniversary. Other recent work can be seen in the opening episodes of the BBC’s Hope Street where he is the lead series director having shot the opening episodes to all 5 series.
His last short film ‘SnapCatch’ highlights the dark world of online grooming. It has won numerous festival awards and was made to support the Online Safety Bill, which was passed in Parliament in 2024. This follows the critically acclaimed ‘LeadBelly’, which was well received at international film festivals picking up Most Influential Film at the Horsetooth International Film Festival in Colorado.
He has been directing for 23 years on numerous continuing drama shows including 'London Kills' (BBC), 'Holby City' (BBC), 'Casualty' (BBC), 'The Dumping Ground' (BBC), 'The Case' (BBC), 'Missing' (BBC), 'Drop Dead Gorgeous' (BBC), 'Dream Team' (Sky One).
He has won awards for Best Comedy Drama at the British Awards and Most Spectacular Scene at the British Soap Awards.
Sean is passionate about working with actors and has run successful screen acting workshops for a number of years. Sean’s sessions are collaborative, supportive and tailored to the actors requirements.
